Mission Statement:
 
The mission of the BCPA is to unite all those in Broward County, Florida who are interested in the profession of pharmacy by supporting and encouraging high standards of pharmaceutical practice; establishing and maintaining relations with medical and other health professions, industry, and government;and sponsoring continuing education programs for practicing pharmacists.
 
About Us:
 
The Broward County Pharmacy Association (BCPA) was formed to unite all those who are interested in the profession of pharmacy in Broward County, Florida. Membership is open to any licensed pharmacist, Any pharmacy student enrolled in a recognized college of pharmacy, and any pharmacy technician actively working with a pharmacist in a facility with an active pharmacy permit. Associate membership is available for any person who is otherwise not eligible for any of the other classes of membership who wish to support the aims of the BCPA. Honorary membership may be conferred on certain individuals nominated by the Board of Directors and ratified at a meeting of the members of the BCPA.

Members of BCPA meet on the second Tuesday of every month, except for June, July, and August. Credit for 2 hrs of live continuing education are provided at that time to members in attendance and information of importance to the membership, as it occurs, is provided as well.

BCPA awards scholarships to students enrolled in the colleges of pharmacy in Florida, who are residents of Broward County, Florida.

Legislative and Regulatory Update

The most important continuing education program of the year will be presented by the Broward County Pharmacy Association on February 9. This is the 2010 Legislative and Regulatory Update by Michael Jackson, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Florida Pharmacy Association. In the program he will discuss recent changes in pharmacy laws which affect the practice of pharmacy in Florida, describe issues of state and national interest of the profession of pharmacy, and identify recent statutory changes that affect the role of pharmacy technicians. This program will start at 8:00 PM in Hull Auditorium, Nova Southeastern University.

The program is FREE to PAID MEMBERS. The cost to non-members is $25.00
